How it works
Bytes = channels × sample rate (Hz) × bits per sample ÷ 8 × duration (seconds). GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes; GiB = 1,073,741,824 bytes. How should I count stereo tracks and backups?
Count mono channels: a stereo track uses two. Copies include the original, so 2 means one original plus one backup. The total may span separate drives. 32-bit float uses 32 bits of storage per sample. Choose the format actually written by your recorder.
