Cable & Gear Label Maker

Turn names or a numbered sequence into paired cable labels and equipment tags. Preview exact-size sheets, then print on A4 or US Letter without an account.

Preview is scaled to your screen. Print on the selected paper at 100% / actual size, with headers and footers off. Measure the 50 mm calibration line before cutting. Long text wraps and shrinks to fit; enlarge small labels for better readability.

Methodology

How it works

Start with one label per line for named sources, destinations or pieces of gear. Blank lines are ignored and surrounding whitespace is removed. Alternatively, choose Numbered sequence and enter a prefix, starting number and count. A prefix such as CABLE followed by a space produces CABLE 01, CABLE 02 and so on. Numbers use at least two digits without truncating larger values. The tool accepts up to 200 names or sequence entries, making it useful for preparing a small show without maintaining an inventory system. Paired ends creates two identical labels next to each other in reading order, so both ends of a cable carry the same identifier. Copies applies to the whole pair when pairing is enabled, or to each individual label when it is disabled. Four names with paired ends and one copy produce eight physical labels. Pairs remain adjacent in the output order, although a pair can cross a row or page boundary. The sheet count and total label count update as you edit. Previous and Next let you inspect every page before printing. Choose A4 or US Letter and enter the physical label width and height in millimeters. The layout reserves 10 mm page margins, 2 mm gaps between labels, and a top area for a calibration mark. Dashed outlines show where to cut. It is intended for plain paper or full-sheet adhesive stock, not pre-cut commercial label templates. Each label is centered and long text wraps and scales down to fit. Use short identifiers where possible; enlarge the label or shorten its wording when the text becomes too small to read at a glance. Print all sheets opens a dedicated document containing only your label sheets. Select the same paper size in the print dialog, use 100% or actual size, and turn off browser headers and footers. Do not use fit-to-page scaling. Before cutting a full batch, print a test sheet and measure the 50 mm calibration line with a ruler. The on-screen preview scales to your viewport and cannot establish physical print size. Printer settings and printable-area restrictions can still affect the final output. Download print sheets saves an HTML document containing all pages. Open it in a browser to print later or save as PDF through the print dialog. Download current SVG exports only the page currently shown, with explicit millimeter dimensions. Label text stays in the current page unless you it; it is not placed in the URL, saved to your account or sent as analytics. Reloading clears your edits. No label-printer integration, input-list import or product registration is required.

Frequently asked questions

Can I label both ends of each cable?

Yes. Enable Paired ends to generate two identical labels per name. Copies of each pair repeats that pair. Labels are ordered together, including when the order continues onto another sheet.

Will this fit my pre-cut label stock?

This version uses fixed page margins and gaps, not manufacturer templates. Use plain paper or full-sheet adhesive stock and cut along the dashed outlines. Check actual size with the calibration mark.

How do I keep or share the whole batch?

Download print sheets saves every page in one HTML file that opens in a browser. You can also print all sheets to PDF. Download current SVG saves only the selected page. Your exported files contain your label text.
